When stripping down a multiplier reel for cleaning, one tricky job can be getting
the bearing out of the side plate. It's made difficult because the bearing is flush
fitting and you can't get a purchase underneath to pop it out.
The answer is to use a drill bit. Try different sizes until you find a snug fit, then
simply rock the bearing back and forward whilst lifting.
The bearing will gently ease itself out.
