My SL30SH was making some horrible noises. When I looked up how to service it I had flashbacks to the days I used to strip down Mini engines and always have a few nuts & bolts left over on re-assembly ! So taking the wimp option I sent the reel to John who serviced and changed a bearing in it in no time and as cheap as chips. I'm happy in the knowledge that I will never again contemplate stripping down my own reels. John you get my vote mate.
What a great service and very helpful along the way. I had a 4 th R2L bite alarm that I could not get to speak with the receiver John sorted this out very quickly and at a very reasonable price. I would strongly recommend him for all your needs. Many thanks

What excellent service, sent a reel on a Wednesday for changing left hand to right and was told on Thursday the reel had been received and sorted and would be on it's way back on Friday, received on the Tuesday all sorted, now that is outstanding service when the reel travelled from Cornwall to Rotherham and back in less than a week considering it was fighting Xmas postal chaos. I was looking for the right part for my discontinued okuma baitrunner reel for a couple of months before I managed to find John, taking apart other broken reels to try and see if the part fitted my one but had no luck so I sent it off to John to see if he could help, I also included a reel that was in bits with a note saying keep it for parts or if not bin it, not only did he repair my broken reel but also put the other one back together and fixed it for me no more than a few days of me sending them.

This is the first time I have used john as I only recently found him. He was able to provide the replacement part I needed for my multiplier reel at a very reasonable price compared to every other place I found it. John was very quick to respond to emails which was fantastic and the delivery time was amazing considering I live on quite a remote island. John was extremely helpful at sourcing 2 spare spools for my Okuma reels, where my local tackle shop had tried and failed. What’s more he did it effectively at cost making virtually nothing for himself. Will certainly come back for reel repair and service and might take him up on putting together a carp kit when funds allow. Thank you John. Really appreciated.

Had a problem with the receiver for some Sensora alarms (batteries had been left in and they leaked). It was beyond repair but John found a new one and gave the alarms a once-over then paired them up, all for £20. Highly recommended
Sent off a set of Pro Logic Sensora 3 + 1 alarms with a faulty receiver (batteries had been left in and they leaked!). Beyond repair but John had a new receiver which he paired up with the heads, gave everything a once-over and sent them back, all for £20. Highly recommended

The cam on my Okuma reel jammed through corrosion. I was advised to replace the reel [throw away society]. I decided to replace the cam myself , enroute to finding the spare part I was lucky enough to come across John . Not only did he service my reel but he resurrected the corroded cam and all for a very reasonable price . First class service from a first class guy , sincere thanks John
I wanted a spare spool for my Okuma 80 reel and I contacted many dealers, with no success. I finally came across the "Reel Value" website and sent a message. A few days later, John made contact saying he had indeed got a used-but in excellent condition-spool. Within two days I had my spare spool at a very reasonable cost, including postage. I'm very pleased with the excellent service and the condition of the spool. I wouldn't hesitate to contact John again.

Well, what can I say?? First rate service. Sent my Daiwa SL30SH to John for a service and investigation into the horrible noise it was making. Send the reel Monday morning, Tuesday morning received a call from John saying that the reel was ready to send back, arrived back with me Thursday. Looks better than ever, and feels incredibly smooth. can't wait to cast a line with it. Brilliant service from the legendary John, will be sending my other reel at sort notice
John had previously repaired two Sierra salt water fly reels that the manufacturers were no longer supporting. Returned as good as new.

This time two very dirty and gritty Hardy Angel reels returned as good as new. Great service and fast turn around

John's customer service is outstanding. He repaired the handle to my discontinued Okuma multiplier rather than simply replacing the part. He avoided expensive solutions and also fully serviced the reel at a very reasonable cost. I have been recommending him to all my angling friends and will not hesitate to use him in the future.

Just got my Shimano 4000 from Reel Value having sent it for repair. What a great job carried out by John, it feels better than new and all at a very reasonable cost with a prompt return. I recently had some issues with an SMX alarm and receiver. I reached out to John and he shipped me out the receiver and the alarm paired together. I got them after about 7 days which is great shipping across the pond! Thanks for the service John!

Just sent my Okuma Magnetix to Reel Value for service. Sent on Monday and back on Friday looking like a new reel. Brilliant service and will be sending more reels there in the future.
First time using reelvalue sent John a okuma cz-10cs which was turned around in just a few days. John was on the phone or emailed to keep me updated couldn't ask for better service will now be sending all my reels to John for service or repair.
I had a set of SMX alarms I sent them on Thursday 21st June 2018 i get them back by Monday 25th June 2018, so a big thenk you to the postal service and to John Wordsworth for an out standing service and at a very reasonable price.

Just had my Shimano long cast serviced, wasn't sure how much difference this would make but how wrong was I!! The reel is so much quieter and smoother, the price and turn around was also amazing. Will be sending my other reels in now.

I contacted John about a broken Bait-feeder I had and if he could fix it and if so could he also supply a spare spool.
John responded very quickly and once I sent him the reel, he repaired it and posted it back to me including the broken gear from the reel and the spare spool in a shorter time frame than he quoted to me.

I contacted John as I had a problem with my Pro Logic alarms and I was going to france shortly. He sorted them out as soon as he received them and posted them back all within 48 hrs, I will definitely be using him again. The service and price was amazing. Thanks again 😁 😁
